3. Polycythemia or increased total red cell count and volume within blood pool . This abnormality can occur as a result of Sleep apnea with less mean Arterial oxygen concentration. This feature sometimes may have another contributing factor that might co exist with sleep apnea. Management and treatment of such an anomaly requires expert clinical skills of our Physicians.
4. Pulmonary Hypertension: This is a condition whereby there is increased hydrostatic pressure in the Lung Arteries.Obstructive Sleep Apnea can result in Secondary Pulmonary Hypertension. But Pulmonary Hypertension could be the Primary disorder that can present with shortness of breath that would affect sleeping and therefor can be confused with Pulmonary hypertension caused by Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
